Manasseh Azure Awuni

Manasseh Azure Awuni is a multiple award-wining Journalists with the Multimedia Group Limited and one of Ghana’s most celebrated investigative and anti-corruption journalists. He was adjudged the overall Best Journalist of the Year in 2011 and the Best Anti-Corruption Reporter in 2013 in Ghana. At the 2017 WAMECA, he won Best Reporter for the Investigative Reporting category.
His story, “Robbing the Assemblies”, was adjudged the best report for the Anti-Corruption Reporting Category. The story also won Manasseh the 2018 West Africa Journalist of the Year.
A three-part comprehensive report, Robbing the Assembly was nearly a year of thorough investigations across 53 Metropolitan, Municipal, District Assemblies (MMDAs) in all the regions of Ghana, exposing massive malfeasance in sanitation contracts between the government of Ghana and the country’s biggest waste management company. The story resulted in the cancellation of the questionable contract worth $74 million.
