Hamida M. Harrison

Hamida Maalim Harrison is the Senior Programme Officer for ABANTU for Development, an international non-governmental organization which seeks to empower African women in the fields of politics and the economy, on the local, national, regional and international levels. She is a longstanding African gender activist.

Hamida is also the Convenor for the Women’s Manifesto Coalition of ABANTU and has helped organized the Ghanaian Women’s Manifesto Movement, a pressure group which sought to instigate and influence gender policies in Ghana.

Mrs. Harrison has also served as a Patron of the Swahili Students Associations (SWASA) of the Kiswahili section of the Department of Languages of the University of Ghana.
