The MFWA remains West Africa’s leading freedom of expression organisation with 19 years of experience working across the region. In 2015, we undertook an extensive contextual analysis of key media and freedom of expression challenges and opportunities across West Africa to inform the drafting of our new 2015-2020 Strategic Plan.
Based on the thorough context analysis and the key issues and challenges identified, the MFWA’s work for the next five years will be focused on two broad Thematic Areas namely: Freedom of Expression; and Media, Democracy & Good Governance. The programmes will be pursued through Impact-Oriented Advocacy; Strategic Partnerships and Collaborations; Research and Documentation; and Stronger Institutional Systems.
