Dora B. Mawutor

Dora B. Mawutor leads and works with the team in the Institutional Development Programme to improve and strengthen the organisation’s systems, visibility, capacity and partnerships.

She joined the MFWA in 2012. Between 2012 and 2014, she led some of the organisation’s influential media research activities including Language Monitoring on Radio during the 2012 General Elections and the adjudication of the 2012 Elections Petition; Monitoring of Women’s Participation in Public Discourse on Radio, and Media Ethics Monitoring.

From 2014, Dora coordinated the organisation’s Internet freedom advocacy projects under the Freedom of Expression Programme and represented the organisation on a number of national, regional and international platforms on digital rights issues. She subsequently became the manager of the Freedom of Expression Programme in 2016 until late 2018 when she was asked to lead the newly created Institutional Development Programme.

Before joining MFWA, Dora worked at Stratcomm Africa in Accra as a Senior Communications Officer; Seatec Telecoms Services Limited as a Project Coordinator and a Personal Assistant to the Managing Director; and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) as a National Service Person.

Dora has a Master of Philosophy Degree in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Information Studies and French, also from the University of Ghana.
