The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) was created
in 1920 by
29 public schools
to serve its member schools. It has grown to 670 public and private
schools.
All contest officials
are independent contractors who
must register with FHSAA and
be a member of a sanctioned local association in order to officiate
any of the 12 sports involving FHSAA member schools.
