About Us
Established in 1973, the Mid-Florida Wrestling
Association, Inc. (MFWA), is a premiere association for interscholastic
wrestling programs of Central Florida.
The MFWA is sanctioned
by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), the
governing body for interscholastic athletic competition in Florida.
All MFWA officials register with the FHSAA.
Our members are
active at both the high school and college levels and USA Wrestling.
The MFWA serves schools in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and
Volusia counties.
The
classification of the schools within the MFWA service area
range from 1A to 3A.
During the 2002
- 2003 high school wrestling season, we scheduled meets/tournaments
for 32 schools.
Our officials are active participants in state
and nation wide invitational wrestling tournaments.
Our officials
have been selected yearly to work the FHSAA state contests.
If you are interested in officiating wrestling, experience
is helpful but not essential, as we have one of the best training
and mentoring programs in the state.
Depending on your officiating
experience level, you will be placed at the correct level to
begin or continue your wrestling officiating career.
